Essences are one of the most important aspects of the MySims series. They are usually various objects, such as metal, wood, rockets, stars, and textbooks. Essences can also be emotions, like happy, sad, scared, or angry, and living organisms, like fish, snakes, kittens, puppies, and elephants. Sims can find various Essences by interacting with the environment, such as prospecting, fishing, interacting with other Sims, etc. They virtually play a very different role in every MySims game, but usually have to involve the parts of the game that involve designing objects. Essences can sometimes be found in unexpected and very unusual places, like Kitten essences growing on trees in the Gardens.
