Joshua is as the player's assistant. He never leaves the player's side and loves to solve problems. Joshua's dream is to become a world class agent. He is often in the secret bookshelf elevator room. When the player goes to their secret room at the end of the story, Joshua will inform the player they have been promoted.
It is hinted that Joshua may have a slight crush on Lyndsay, often stuttering when talking to her and being very impressed with her discoveries. Also, in the end credits, Joshua is seen holding flowers behind his back and blushing as he is approaching Lyndsay. Joshua is also quite concerned when Lyndsay needs the golden pick axe and consistently tells the player to try and buy it for her. When the player gives Lyndsay the golden pick axe, she gives the player a hug and Joshua shows up from behind, upset that he didn't get a hug from Lyndsay.

The headquarters has evaluated your agent level, and sent you the results. As for your agent's qualites, your daily practice and investigation skills have been judged excellent.
Trivia
- Since no one knows the name of mysterious "The Thief V" at first, as a running gag, Joshua will usually add a "V" word at the end of the name when mentioning them. Such as "Thief Violin" or "Thief Vegetable".
- Joshua is his default name, but he can be given a different name at the start of MySims Agents (DS).
- This is somewhat similar to The Legend of Zelda, where Link can be renamed, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, where the player's partner can be renamed.
- Although Joshua can be given a different name, his appearance cannot be changed, aside from a few outfits.
- Joshua is the only Sim that appears in the MySims Camera application as a sticker, but does not appear in a Wii game.
- Even if the player is a female, Joshua will still call the player "sir", rather than "ma'am".
