Mining on a wall.
Mining is a method of obtaining essences that was introduced in MySims Kingdom. You can mine by picking up a pickax lying on a couple of rocks near natural stone walls you can find on some islands. Start mining by pressing A on the pickax. Your character will then begin mining for essences. Mining is very similar to prospecting. Move your character left or right, while swinging your Wii remote (or alternately, you can press the C button on your Nunchuk) to make your character tap the wall. These taps will send out a color signal, exactly like in the prospecting minigame. Blue is the farthest signal, with extremely slow beats. It signifies that you are extremely far from the essence you are mining for. Green signifies that you are a bit far from the essence and may have to get a bit closer, but still closer than blue. The beats at green are slow and steady. Yellow which means you are getting a bit closer to Essences, but not quite, and the signals are more rapid than green, but not by much. Red signifies that you are extremely close, and the signals are much more rapid. Once you are on the exact hot spot where the essences are, you are to start drilling out essences from the spot as fast as you can by rapidly swinging your Wii remote, or alternately, you can just use the A button. Once your character stops and cheers, it means that there are no more essences to drill out and you are to repeat the process of finding the hot spot all over again.
